There are no auditions for membership or chairs in the group. Members sit wherever they feel comfortable. In many sections, people trade so no one feels stuck in one place, and we encourage switching things up to keep it interesting.
Membership is paid for with tax-deductible dues ($80 per year, or $40 for students, and we have an annual scholarship to aid those requiring financial assistance). Dues pay for rental of our rehearsal and performance venues, purchasing new music and music copying, band supplies, composer compensation, and an honorarium for the director.
Our Welcome Letter contains more details about the workings of the band, and you can always send us a message through our Contact Us page or Facebook if you have more questions or special needs. Or, simply dust off your instrument and show up at rehearsal!
